The Land Title and Survey Authority of British Columbia (LTSA) has restructured its operating divisions, resulting in changes to key positions on the leadership team. Effective January 1, 2019, Craig Johnston, LL.B., has assumed the newly-created role of Vice President, Policy and Legal Services, responsible for all policy and legal services across the organization. Craig previously held the role of Director of Land Titles since 2008. Prior to joining the LTSA, Craig worked in private practice as a litigator and solicitor, and as sole corporate counsel with a large BC-based land developer and hotel operator.
Carlos MacDonald, LL.B., will take over the role of Director of Land Titles, with duties and responsibilities outlined in the Land Title Act. Carlos has been with the LTSA since 2011 as the Registrar for the Victoria Land Title Office.
Larry Blaschuk, LL.B., is now the Registrar overseeing all land title districts and offices across BC. Larry has been with the LTSA since 2008 and was previously the Registrar for the New Westminster and Kamloops Land Title Offices.
Mike Thomson, BCLS, will be retiring at the end of March 2019. The LTSA is grateful for his contributions in the role of Surveyor General and Boundary Commissioner of BC since he joined the organization in September 2007. The LTSA is currently seeking his successor.
