The Land Title and Survey Authority of British Columbia (LTSA) has updated the Direct Access of Operational Records Policy as of June 30, 2020 to reflect a number of changes.

Revisions to the policy are effective June 30, 2020 and include:

  1. Non-material changes arising from the biennial review pursuant to the LTSA Privacy Management Program (PMP);
  2. Language amendments due to the introduction of the Land Owner Transparency Act (LOTA) and consequential broadening of the LTSA’s statutory mandate;
  3. Language amendments consistent with the United Nations Declaration on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples, based on recommendations by the LTSA’s Historic Records Advisory Committee;
  4. Inclusion of provisions from the LTSA’s Code of Business Conduct and Ethics Policy; and
  5. General housekeeping reflecting relevant staff changes, distinct privacy-related obligations of the LTSA, and minor corrections in grammar.

As a result, Direct Access Pass Holders are asked to re-sign a Direct Access Application that confirms acknowledgment of, and compliance with, the updated provisions. In particular, Direct Access Pass Holders will now be subject to certain provisions of the LTSA’s Code of Business Conduct and Ethics Policy in order to ensure a safe working environment for both Direct Access Pass Holders and LTSA staff.

All Direct Access Pass Holders will be contacted directly with an updated Direct Access Application to re-sign before accessing LTSA premises on or after June 30, 2020.
