The Land Title and Survey Authority of British Columbia (LTSA) and the British Columbia Assessment Authority (BCA) announce they have entered into a data sharing agreement that formalizes the alignment of tax assessment data with survey and title data via ParcelMap BC, the current, complete and trusted electronic map of titled and surveyed Crown land parcels in BC. Customers and stakeholders of both organizations benefit from more efficient access to a comprehensive dataset delivering a rich visual representation of property information province-wide.

“We are pleased to provide our customers with extensive and up-to-date property assessment information, and aligning it with ParcelMap BC provides a vital, intuitive link with survey and title data,” stated John Yannacopoulos, Vice President, Customer at BCA. “A single reference platform for this volume of reliable property information helps our provincial and local government customers transact more efficiently with property owners throughout BC.”

The data sharing opportunity also enhances the value proposition for local governments to adopt ParcelMap BC as their primary parcel fabric, providing a basis for comprehensive property information services.

“ParcelMap BC customers and stakeholders tell us they would like to harmonize their data sources and minimize integration needs,” added Al-Karim Kara, Vice President, Business Innovation and Chief Information Officer. “Through this agreement, the LTSA can now offer local governments an authoritatively-sourced information product supporting property workflows in their organization, which helps align decision making to better serve constituents.”
