The Land Title and Survey Authority of BC (LTSA) is pleased to introduce ParcelMap BC, British Columbia's first and only electronic map of all active titled parcels and surveyed provincial Crown land parcels in BC, to myLTSA users.

An extensive, multi-year project, ParcelMap BC will have full province coverage by mid-2017, accounting for over two million active titled and surveyed provincial Crown land parcels.

ParcelMap BC provides the following benefits:

  • Supports faster and more accurate real property transactions
  • Improves the speed and efficiency of land-related research, planning and business decisions through the current spatial representation of a given parcel and its relationship to adjacent parcels
  • Facilitates the ability to search parcels by civic address
  • Minimizes possible data discrepancies and confusion by reducing the need to consult separate spatial systems in BC

At present, available regions to search include the local government areas bounded by the regional districts of Nanaimo, Cowichan Valley, Capital, Bulkley-Nechako, Fraser-Fort George, Kitimat-Stikine, Skeena-Queen Charlotte, Cariboo and Central Coast. This represents nine of 29 regional districts to be compiled.

ParcelMap BC and its related services have been developed by the LTSA with support of the Association of BC Land Surveyors and other participating stakeholders, including the Province of British Columbia, Integrated Cadastral Information Society (ICI Society) and BC Assessment. Many other partners also contribute to the service.

Land surveyors will continue to play a critical role in the maintenance of ParcelMap BC through the submission of survey plan datasets which will help to improve the overall spatial accuracy of the ParcelMap BC fabric while facilitating efficient up-to-date currency of the fabric. ParcelMap BC is continually updated by the ParcelMap BC Operations Team with support from the Surveyor General Division of the LTSA to ensure its currency.

ParcelMap BC is a regularly-updated research tool, intended to facilitate searching parcels of land in the province using a representative online map as a precursor to the standard practice of confirmation with authoritative sources and conducting due diligence through a professional consultation.

Steve Thomson, Minister of Forests, Lands and Natural Resource Operations:

"ParcelMap BC's availability on myLTSA represents a major leap forward in the provision of land information in BC, supporting all types of economic activity in the province. We have been working very closely with the LTSA, BC Assessment, the ICI Society on behalf of member municipalities, utilities and the Association of BC Land Surveyors on this initiative, and are pleased to see the information is now available to users of BC's land title and survey systems.

Geoff Plant, Chair of the Land Title and Survey Authority of British Columbia Board of Directors:

"The LTSA has been collaborating with stakeholders on the planning and build of ParcelMap BC to ensure it reflects their information needs. I am confident that our myLTSA customers will find ParcelMap BC an intuitive and useful service to support land-based research."
