The Director of Land Titles has announced changes to the Director’s Requirements to File Land Title Forms Electronically [DR-06-11]. Legal professionals and lending institutions will soon be required to electronically submit mortgage releases, saving property owners time and money.

Effective March 1, 2017, the following will only be accepted if submitted electronically:

  1. Form C – Releases (such as mortgage releases) 
  2. Applications that require a preliminary inspection, specifically:
  • Caveats
  • Certificates of Pending Litigation

Documents signed before March 1, 2017, along with Form C – Releases of a Claim of Builders Lien, can still be submitted by mail or in person at a land title office.
