Further to discussions by the ParcelMap BC Adoption Working Group (AWG) in October 2018, the Land Title and Survey Authority of British Columbia (LTSA) is pleased to release a new resource describing Spatial Improvements in ParcelMap BC. This resource introduces a new app to visualize the assessment used by the ParcelMap BC Operations team to plan and prioritize spatial improvement work across the province, providing transparency to stakeholders on how and when improvements are applied to ParcelMap BC.

Spatial improvements can range from simple transformations that only improve absolute positioning (not relative accuracy), through to rigorous least-squares adjustments that involve a full survey network adjustment of both relative and absolute position. The ParcelMap BC Operations team targets delivery of spatial improvements for 1-2 Areas of Interest each month. A list of Completed Spatial Improvement Areas outlines those areas that have been updated. For participating stakeholders, positional updates resulting from spatial improvements are available as a Change Vectors data product via the ParcelMap Direct Service.

Learn more information about the data, as well as access Help resources for using the app. Customers can also contact myLTSA Tech Support with any additional questions.

The next ParcelMap BC Adoption Working Group meeting will take place on November 21, 2018. PMBC AWG facilitators can be reached at pmbc.awg@icisociety.ca for more information.
