The Land Title and Survey Authority of BC (LTSA) recommends the general public follow the steps below to ensure delivery of items to and from the Land Title Division, and to the Surveyor General Division, in the event of a postal service disruption.

For Document and Search Requests and Submissions to the Land Title Division

  • Search for active titles or order State of Title Certificates or plan images directly through a myLTSA Explorer account
  • Submit items such as document and search requests and land title applications, along with the appropriate payment, by visiting a land title office that serves the particular land title district
  • Hire a Professional to fulfill document and search requests and submissions:'
    • Use the services of a registry agent to fulfill document and search requests or send submissions (with the preparation of some submissions also possible).
    • Consult the services of a lawyer, notary or land surveyor to fulfill document and search requests.
    • Consult the services of a lawyer or notary to prepare land title applications.
    • Consult the services of a land surveyor to prepare land title plan submissions.
  • Use a courier to send document and search requests or submissions, along with payment, to the appropriate land title office.

To Receive Items Sent by the Land Title Division (Notices and Certificates)

  • Where an email address has been provided, notices to customers will be emailed. Customers are encouraged to provide an email address with their document and search requests and land title application submissions to receive notices quickly and efficiently.
  • Where an email address has not been provided, customers, or their designated courier or registry agent, can pick up notices at the land title office that serves their land title district.
  • For time-sensitive requests for State of Title Certificates, customers can work with a registry agent to order electronic State of Title Certificates. Customers can also order and pick up the certificates at the land title office that serves their land title district.

Submissions to the Surveyor General Division

All plan and application submissions to the Surveyor General Division can be made through myLTSA Enterprise. 

Requests for records from the Surveyor General’s vault can continue to be requested through myLTSA or by phone or email in the usual manner.
