To transmit interest to a personal representative.

Steps to Apply at a Land Title Office Counter or by Mail

1. Court-certified copy of Letters Probate with Will attached or Letters of Administration as issued by the Court Registry, Province of BC. If the deceased's name shown in the Letters Probate or Letters of Administration is not exactly the same as shown on title, you may be required to prove the deceased's identity by providing a statutory declaration accompanied by a copy of the Wills search applicable to the name on title. A current title search will show the owner's name on title.

2. A court-certified copy of the Assets portion of the "Disclosure Statement" obtained from the Probate Registry Office.

3. A duly-completed PDF iconForm 17 - Transmit Interest to a Personal Representative for each parcel or charge being transmitted.

4. Duplicate Certificate of Title must be surrendered if not on file in this office. A current title search will provide this information.

5. Pay Indefeasible Title fee of $71.58 for each parcel or charge being transmitted.

6. Property Transfer Tax Return (FIN579S). When completing this form exemption Code 09 applies.

    1. If you require assistance with this form, contact the Ministry of Finance, Property Transfer Tax Section. Please do not contact the land title office as we cannot help you with this specific form.

7. If you require confirmation of registration, please complete aPDF iconRequest Form for State of Title Certificate and for each title include payment of $14.31 for the Certification fee.
