Online Access to Land Title Records

All current titles from 1990 onward and most documents and plans are stored online and are available electronically via the LTSA’s Search Services access via myLTSA Enterprise.

Business and professional customers who occasionally search for active land titles and order plans may consider registering for a myLTSA Explorer account.

Accessing Older Land Title Records

Land title records before the 1990s are stored in restricted areas in LTSA’s office and will incur extra fees to be located and scanned. Requests for these records are best fulfilled by a registry agent or a copy may be obtained from the appropriate land title office. Direct access to original land title and survey records is limited to LTSA employees and those with direct access privileges including land surveyors, historical researchers and registry agents.

Land title office employees are not able to undertake historical research of land title records.

Records Dealing with Surveys and Dispositions of Crown Land

The Surveyor General Services maintains all the physical records of surveys of Crown lands and all the Crown grants issued to alienate Crown land in the province. It also supports the maintenance of the provincial Crown land registry records in the Tantalis system, which is operated by the Lands Branch of the Ministry of Forests, Lands, Natural Resource Operations and Rural Development. Tantalis records can be accessed through the Provincial Government’s GATOR system.

To order copies of Crown land survey plans, Crown grants or field books from the Surveyor General’s records vault, customers with myLTSA Enterprise accounts are encouraged to submit requests using the Scan on Demand service. Records will be delivered to the user’s myLTSA Inbox and the fees will be deducted from their myLTSA account.

Customers without a myLTSA Enterprise account may email Records Distribution Services staff at orderdesk@ltsa.ca or contact LTSA’s Customer Service Centre. When you place your order, fees will apply and Records Distribution staff will inform you of the total amount due.

For map based searches LTSA has developed ParcelMap BC. ParcelMap BC provides a single, complete, trusted and sustainable electronic map of all active titled parcels and surveyed provincial Crown land parcels in BC and is actively updated as new surveys are completed. ParcelMap BC can be accessed through a myLTSA Explorer or Enterprise account by logging into myLTSA. There is also a version of ParcelMap BC that can be accessed without a myLTSA account as a Guest User.

Prior to the development of ParcelMap BC, LTSA had provided a free internet mapping viewer called Online Cadastre. As ParcelMap BC is now fully operational, Online Cadastre is no longer being maintained by LTSA and as of March 2020 the Ministry of Forests, Lands, Natural Resource Operations and Rural Development is taking over ownership of Online Cadastre. ParcelMap BC is the recommended tool for customers of LTSA moving forward.
