BJ Houghton is a British Columbia Land Surveyor and Professional Engineer and has more than 20 years of consulting experience in Northern British Columbia. BJ is employed by McElhanney Ltd. and is currently the Branch Manager of the Fort St. John office, located within Treaty 8 lands. He is responsible for leading multi-disciplinary teams providing survey, geospatial and engineering services for major projects in Northern British Columbia with a focus on the Communities, LNG and Resource market sectors.
As a member of the Association of British Columbia Land Surveyors, BJ has participated in appointed committees related to professional practice entry and regulation as a member of the Board of Examiners and Practice Advisory Panel. BJ has also served on not-for-profit boards including the Kitimat Chamber of Commerce and Kitimat-Terrace Airport Society as a Director and Board Chair.
BJ holds a Bachelor of Science in Geomatics Engineering Degree from the University of Calgary.
