Anar Shamji Popatia has over 20 years experience in governance, entrepreneurship and stakeholder engagement driving business growth, transformation and partnerships. She serves on numerous boards and advisory councils, including Chair of the Honorary Governors’ Council at the Vancouver Foundation and Director at Transparency International Canada with previous appointments to Consumer Protection BC, amongst many others.
Anar leads client relations for a wealth management advisory firm. She has 15 years of consulting and business development with Dun & Bradstreet working with SMEs in a wide range of industries and spearheaded the turnaround of an international business in crisis.
Anar is a recipient of the BMO Celebrates Women on Boards Award for empowering women to lead in corporate governance and the RBC Top 25 Canadian Immigrant Award in recognition of her leadership in community engagement.
Anar holds the ICD.D designation from the Institute of Corporate Directors and the GCB.D designation from the Global Competent Board ESG Program. She graduated in Business & Economics from Brock University and Wharton’s Executive Development Program.
