Effective fall 2026, retention limits for registered land title packages will be introduced in Web Filing. Registered Web Filing packages will be retained for 90 days following registration. At this time, unsubmitted packages will not be impacted. This change will help reduce version-control risks, limit reliance on outdated information, and reinforce the land title register as the authoritative source of truth, a key principle of the Torrens System.

To help maintain effective file management practices, customers can access the following resources and step-by-step instructions to get the most out of their LTSA account.

Resources

  • Download forms and package management – Customers who wish to retain copies of registered packages beyond the 90-day retention period should download and store them in accordance with their organization’s record-management practices.

Reminders

  • When using templates, enter fixed data (eg. applicant information). Do not save PIDs, transferors, borrowers, etc, as this information will likely change.
  • Immediately after submission, download a stamped copy for record keeping, in accordance with your organization’s record-management practices.
  • Refer to LTSA Practice Guides and other LTSA resources and not third party material.
