The Land Title and Survey Authority of British Columbia (LTSA) is looking for an enthusiastic and detailed HR Technologist to join our team in Victoria. This is a 7 month temporary position ending March 31, 2021.

Reporting to the Manager HR Services & Payroll, the Human Resources Technologist plays a key role in providing technical and administrative payroll and HR related support services in a challenging and fast-paced environment. 

Providing information and advice to employees on a wide range of pay and benefit policies, procedures, and processes, the Human Resources Technologist is an important point of contact for employees and managers. The Human Resources Technologist, with guidance and direction from HR management follows through with the administrative paperwork to support many pay and human resources-related processes.

The LTSA a publicly accountable, statutory corporation that manages BC's land title and survey systems. These systems provide the foundation for all real property business and ownership in the province.

Through technology, we are reducing turnaround time for our customers (e.g., lawyers, notaries, land surveyors, etc.) while also improving the consistency, accuracy and efficiency of our services.

In this role, you will:

  • Provides information and advice to employees on a wide range of human resources and labour relations policies, procedures, processes and established      interpretations on negotiated collective agreement provisions;
  • Provides support in grievance administration and preparing for collective bargaining;
  • Performs calculations to determine salary and compensation entitlements, enters transactions into the HR and payroll systems, often under tight deadlines;
  • Verifies and audits information to ensure the integrity of data in the system(s);
  • Provides support by maintaining and monitoring status logs and flagging action dates, providing information regarding entitlements, processes, performing salary calculations;
  • Produces correspondence to support HR actions taken relative to compensation; or other HR/LR-related matters
  • Provides backup administration of confidential payroll as required.  This requires regular communication,  sharing of duties and training to ensure that knowledge and skills remain current;
  • Collects, organizes and maintains all employee files;
  • Builds effective relationships with all employees to ensure efficient and effective HR services;
  • Develops and produces regular HR reporting surrounding time, attendance, absence, and leave tracking.

We encourage you to apply if you have:

  • Three years of clerical experience, education and/or training
  • At least two years working in a payroll and human resources environment
  • Experience working with and meeting strict deadlines
  • Payroll Compliance Practitioner Certification or equivalent, preferred
  • Experience processing transactions in a complex HR or payroll information system; ADP platform preferred
