Stakeholder Collaboration and Outreach: LTSA’s Advisory Committees

Outreach is core to LTSA’s accountability framework. Regulatory governance, operational performance, and business changes at LTSA all benefit from established consultation and advisory forums with a wide variety of organizations. We recognize the impacts its current operations and future opportunities can have on a broad spectrum of stakeholders and customers. With that in mind, we integrate stakeholder considerations into business planning through consultation and collaboration.

When LTSA was established in 2005, the Board created a formal Stakeholder Advisory Committee (SAC) which is designed to ensure effective two-way communication with stakeholders and customers. Members are nominated by the organizations that support LTSA in the performance of its statutory functions, and provide advice to LTSA on programs and services. LTSA provides updates to the SAC on a variety of topics, including major initiatives, service enhancements and regulatory and policy initiatives.

LTSA has established other Advisory Committees to ensure its operations are informed by stakeholders who use the systems. These include:

  • Legal Professionals Advisory Council who provide feedback on the interests and concerns of the legal community related to policy and practice issues.
  • Land Surveyor Advisory Task Force who provide a venue for advice from BC land surveyors regarding aspects of LTSA’s major projects.
  • Historic Records Advisory Committee who provide advice to the LTSA relating to the prioritization of the preservation and digitization of records with a focus those of most relevance for First Nations. The Historic Records Advisory Committee includes members from First Nations organizations.
