Enhancements to LTSA’s Change of Name Online Application for BC Property Owners

The Land Title and Survey Authority of BC (LTSA) has introduced enhancements for LTSA’s online application for property owners to change name on title. Effective April 7, 2024, the following enhancements are available:

Application enhancements

  • Applicants may now submit online using the BC Services Card app and will receive confirmation by email when their application is registered. Online submissions now also allow for online payment by VISA or Mastercard.
  • Applicants can now order a State of Title Certificate for any of the Parcel Identifiers (PIDs) in the application as proof of registration with a change of name application. Once the application is registered, updated State of Title Certificates are delivered via email for online submissions and via Canada Post for in-person or mail submissions.
  • Applicants can now update their occupation on title at the same time as filing a change of name application.
  • Applicants who have filed online will be notified by email when their application is registered.

Filing a Corrective Declaration or Withdrawing an Application

  • A new online service allows applicants who filed a change of name application to revise that application if they are notified of issues preventing its registration.
  • If there is a problem with an application filed online, the applicant will be provided a unique URL by email to revise the application. The applicant must file a corrective declaration by its expiry date by logging in with the BC Services Card app. Applicants not wishing to file a corrective declaration will also have an online option to withdrawal their application.
  • Applicants who have filed by mail or in person will be notified via Canada Post if there are issues with their application and will be required to file a Corrective Declaration by its expiry date by mail or by appointment at a land title office in New Westminster, Victoria or Kamloops.
