Direction 9: Information on the Body of a Plan which will be Deposited into a Land Title Office
Direction to Land Surveyors No. 9 (Updated December 29, 2010)
This Direction to British Columbia Land Surveyors supersedes the Direction on this subject posted on the LTSA website dated July 2008
The information contained in this document pertains to both electronic and mylar plans submitted for registration to a land title office.
Summary
Land title office staff do not have the authority to alter or add information to a plan. Accordingly, information on the face of the plan must be current at the moment a physical plan is signed by the land surveyor or the Certification Form affixed to an electronic plan is digitally signed by the land surveyor.
Details
Unregistered electronic plans may be shown in the scenery on plans submitted for land title office registration as long as the assigned EPP number and the land surveyor who has prepared the unregistered plan are expressed.
A sample plan is available as an example of the acceptable manner in which to show unregistered plans on a plan submitted to the land title office for registration.
Please contact a land title office or the Surveyor General Division of the Land Title and Survey Authority for more information.
