The Registrar of Land Titles has reviewed the practice guidance adopted in 2011 to assist with implementation of changes to the Power of Attorney Act and the preparation of enduring powers of attorney used for land title purposes. Effective immediately, the Registrar will no longer require an enduring power of attorney to be supported by an affidavit confirming the matters set in section 16(6) of the Power of Attorney Act.
This change is included in the 2024 revisions to the Land Title Practice Manual, which the Continuing Legal Education Society of BC will publish in Fall 2024.
