Inaugural Meeting of the LTSA Historic Records Advisory Committee
On Friday, November 22, 2019, the Land Title and Survey Authority of British Columbia (LTSA) held the first meeting of its newly-formed Historic Records Advisory Committee.
The purpose of this Committee is to provide advice to the LTSA as it relates to the preservation, digitization, and accessibility of historical paper records and microfilm. The initial focus of the Committee’s efforts is on records of relevance to Indigenous peoples.
Committee members have committed to a three-year term and include representatives from three organizations:
- Assembly of First Nations – Kim Lawson
- Union of BC Indian Chiefs – Syr Reifsteck
- First Nations Summit – Jason Woolman
- LTSA participants include the CEO and the Corporate Records Officer.
Guests are invited to attend through consensus of the Committee when it is deemed guests may help the Committee achieve its objectives. Meetings are held every three to four months, with the next meeting scheduled for February 10, 2020. Please email moreinfo@ltsa.ca with any questions.
