The Land Title and Survey Authority of British Columbia (LTSA) has launched LandTransparency.ca, a key resource for information about the Land Owner Transparency Registry (LOTR) which is expected to start operating later this year. The site currently outlines key topics including filing requirements and access to registry information, and content will continue to be expanded as updates are available, including policy regulations and system tutorials for how to file.
The first-of-its kind in Canada, LOTR is a registry of information about individuals who are deemed to have an indirect interest in land. The LTSA is responsible for developing and operating LOTR, as set out in the Land Owner Transparency Act. LOTR is part of the Province of BC’s comprehensive plan for eliminating hidden ownership of real estate in BC.
