REMINDER: Land Tax Deferment Act Agreement Charges

Customers are reminded that, if Land Tax Deferment Act agreement charge on title is in the process of being discharged, accompanying evidence must be described on a Web Filing declaration form by selecting ‘Land Tax Deferment Act Declaration’ from the drop down menu.

Evidence such as a payout letter from the Ministry of Finance or a letter of undertaking from the vendor’s legal representative may no longer be attached as a separate letter. Customers will experience registration delays if the evidence is appended to the declaration form. Section 4.6 of the ‘Land Title Web Filing Form Practice Guide’ for the Declaration form details this requirement.

When Land Tax Deferment Act Declaration is selected in Web Filing, the Declaration is populated with text that requests the Registrar of Land Titles to withhold issuing a Notice Declining to Register, in order to provide sufficient time to have a Notice of Satisfaction of the Land Tax Deferment Act charge filed at the Land Title Office.

Customers are welcome to contact the Customer Service team with any questions at customerservice@ltsa.ca or by phone at 604-630-9630 or 1-877-577-LTSA (5872), option 2.
