Spotlight: Avoiding Common Defects Related to Form Execution
Minimizing defects to ensure land title applications are processed as and when expected is in everyone’s interests. Over the coming months, LTSA will continue to highlight common errors that lead to defects to help customers avoid similar issues.
A common type of error received by LTSA is related to the execution of forms. Examples include:
- A form with missing or wrong execution dates, such as dates in the future.
- A form is not ‘trued up’ with the name(s) of authorized signatory(ies).
- There is no corporate owner’s signature or name.
LTSA is committed to supporting customers with submitting applications as accurately and efficiently as possible. For more guidance on the execution of land title forms, review the Land Title Practice Manual for legislation and commentary related to Attestation and Proof of Execution of Instruments.
