NOTICE: Upcoming Retirement of Surveyor General PDF Templates

Land surveyors are advised existing PDF template forms for Surveyor General submissions will be retired on July 30, 2020. If you haven’t already, please start using the Web Filing versions of these forms immediately as we transition away from existing PDF forms.

On June 15, 2020, the Land Title and Survey Authority of British Columbia (LTSA) introduced Web Filing forms for submissions to Surveyor General Operations, including the “Consolidated Surveyor General Application and Plan Submission” form and the “Renewal of Survey Monument” form. For all submissions to the Surveyor General, except the CLRS form, Web Filing forms can be accessed through the Web Filing menu option in myLTSA.

There are a few easy steps to completing a Web Filing form:

  1. Begin by entering required data directly into a Web Filing form;
  2. Upload any required attachments for your submission;
  3. Answer all checklist questions;
  4. Submit the completed Package using myLTSA.

The preparation and submission of the “Survey Plan – Submission to Surveyor General – LTSA” (CLRS) form used to certify and submit Land ActOil & Gas Activities Act (well site), Mineral Tenure ActCoal Act and Former Indian Reserve Survey plans remain unchanged at this time. Use of the current PDF template form version 19 will continue as is.

Land surveyors are further advised that, due to changes associated with Web Filing, a number of Surveyor General resources have been updated. Please take the time to review these documents and familiarize yourself with the changes resulting from the introduction of Web Filing:

  • Circular Letter No. 475 has been revised to 475A with minor changes.
  • Directions to Land Surveyors 3, 12 and 16 have been updated and changes have been made to the Submission to Surveyor General web page. Significant changes were made to Direction to Land Surveyors No. 12: Electronic Submission of Statutory Applications to the Surveyor General[add link] in order to reflect process updates in Web Filing.
  • Surveyor General Bulletin #2 has also been updated to reflect the new Web Filing form.
