Working with the LTSA During the COVID-19 Situation

The Land Title and Survey Authority of British Columbia (LTSA) has implemented temporary operational changes due to the evolving COVID-19 situation. We are committed to protecting the health and well-being of our employees and customers while ensuring our business operations continue as usual. The services we deliver are an essential underpinning to BC’s private property market and civil justice system, and to BC’s civic governance, taxation and Crown land management frameworks.

As our response evolves, current information about accessing LTSA services are outlined below. Updates will be posted to LTSA.ca and our Twitter account @LTSABC.

LTSA’s Electronic Services

The LTSA’s services are available electronically through myLTSA and AutoProp, including search and filing services. Each year, the LTSA handles more than 4 million search and filing transactions, with nearly 95 percent of all land title applications and 100 percent of survey plans submitted online. Over 50 percent of all land title applications received are automatically processed and registered; the remaining applications are reviewed and processed by Examiners in a matter of days.

Services Available from Legal Professionals

Lawyers and Notaries continue to provide services for LTSA submissions that require the expertise of a legal professional, such as transferring title. In support of recommendations by the BC Public Health Officer to maintain social distance, the LTSA has provided guidance regarding alternate options for witnessing requirements when executing instruments under the Land Title Act.

Restricted Access to LTSA Front Counters

While all other office operations continue as usual, the LTSA is restricting access in Land Title Offices to only its employees, direct access pass holders and Registry Agents until further notice. Front counter services are closed.
