Shawna was commissioned as a Notary Public in 2010. She lives and operates her notarial practice in the unincorporated area of Otter Point, west of Sooke. The focus of her practice is Real Estate Conveyancing, Wills and Personal Planning.

Shawna has previous experience working for the BC Ministry of Transportation and Highways, BC Ministry of Environment, Lands and Parks, and the BC Ministry of Forests where she held the roles of analyst, policy advisor and contract manager.

She worked as a right-of-way and land policy consultant on behalf of telecommunications companies, all levels of government throughout North America, and law firms providing work product and expert testimony. She has presented her research for organisations such as the International Right of Way Association, The United States Western & Eastern States Land Commissioners Association, and the Appraisal Institute (Sacramento Chapter), amongst others.

Shawna holds a Bachelor of Arts Degree from the University of Victoria, where she majored in Political Science and Economics. She also graduated with a Master’s Degree in Public Administration from the University of Victoria, and a Master of Arts Degree in Applied Legal Studies from Simon Fraser University.
