TO ALL BRITISH COLUMBIA LAND SURVEYORS

Re: Integrated Survey Area (ISA) Official Plans and Coordinates

The Township of Langley was constituted as Integrated Survey Area No. 41 under authority of Order in Council No. 154/99, approved and ordered February 3, 1999. This has been confirmed by British Columbia Regulation No. 37/99 published in Part II of the British Columbia Gazette.

The City of New Westminster was constituted as Integrated Survey Area No. 49 under authority of Order in Council No. 155/99, approved and ordered February 3, 1999. This has been confirmed by British Columbia Regulation No. 38/99 published in Part II of the British Columbia Gazette.

The boundaries of Kamloops Integrated Survey Area No. 23 have been enlarged under authority of Order in Council No. 153/99, approved and ordered February 3, 1999. This amendment has been confirmed by British Columbia Regulation No. 36/99 published in Part II of the British Columbia Gazette.

The boundaries of Burnaby Integrated Survey Area No. 25 have been enlarged under authority of Order in Council No. 1477/98 , approved and ordered December 3, 1998. This amendment has been confirmed by British Columbia Regulation No. 429/98 published in Part II of the British Columbia Gazette.

The official plans and NAD83 (CSRS) consolidated coordinate listings are on record in the appropriate land title office and respective municipality. Survey plans within these new integrated survey areas must be prepared using NAD83 (CSRS) derived grid bearings. There will be a grace period until June 1, 1999 for surveys which are largely already completed. We urge surveyors to use NAD83 (CSRS) coordinates on all plans prior to June 1, 1999 where possible.

Yours sincerely,
